New Jersey to Extend unemployment insurance benefits for 60,000

According to NJBiz.com the state of New Jersey will "automatically file a claim for 13 additional weeks of federal Extended Unemployment Compensation Tier II benefits on behalf of approximately 60,000 unemployed workers who currently are collecting federal Extended Unemployment Compensation Tier I benefits."

New Jersey is one of several states that now offers extended unemployment insurance benefits, or Tier II (Tier 2) benefits, to people who have been unemployed for many weeks.

This is thanks to New Jersey having over 6% unemployment rate for 3 consecutive months.
