Philadelphia Metro Area's unemployment rate reaches 5.9% in November 2008
According to the Philadelphia Business Journal
Unemployment in the Philadelphia area hit 5.9 percent in November, up from 5.6 percent in October, according to preliminary figures this week from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.
In November 2007, the area’s unemployment rate was 4 percent.
The bureau includes parts of South Jersey, including Camden, and Delaware, including Wilmington, part of the Philadelphia area.
The national unemployment rate was 6.7 percent in November.
