According to the Detroit Free Press, the state of Michigan is experiencing double-digit unemployment for the first time since 1985. Michigan also has the dubious distinction of having the nations highest rate of unemployment, and being one of a handful states actually borrowing from the federal government to make unemployment insurance payments.
This will undoubtedly further stress the state's unemployment insurance fund.
