Michigan's Unemployment rate increases throughout the state in November

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Regional unemployment rates increased in 16 of Michigan's 17 major labor markets in November.

State officials say stores hired fewer retail workers for the holiday season, while other industries reported larger-than-expected seasonal jobs cuts.

The highest rate in November was in northeast lower Michigan at 12.2 percent. The lowest rate was the Ann Arbor region's 6 percent.
